I'd Rather Be Lonely
Erin Shields

My mother always told me (and everyone else we knew!) that I could sing before I could speak. I would listen to soundtracks of the great jazz divas and try to imitate them. The songs on this recording are some of my favorite songs that I’ve been singing since I was a little girl. I realize the title sounds a bit depressing, but I’d Rather Be Lonely isn’t about wanting to be alone. It’s about the choices we make and sometimes the ones that others make for us. I hope you enjoy these wonderful and unique arrangements as much as I enjoyed singing them.
